Live on Electric Avenue will be featuring Keith Hubbard and Hubcats
this Friday night, July 9. The Hubcats music is dedicated to
preserving the American musical traditions of the South and features
music that originated from the mouth of the Mississippi River and all
points north.
Their show is tailored for fans of barrelhouse piano boogie, Delta blues, and slide guitar, roadhouse tonk and swing, swamp funk and gritty New Orleans soul. Last year, The Hubcats were the opening act for the Herman Chittison Jazz and Art Festival held here in Flemingsburg. The band is led by its founder, poet and pianist Keith “The Hub” Hubbard and also includes Fleming County’s own Pat Dillon who plays guitar and shares vocal and songwriting for the group. Pat Dice, from Louisville is on the bass and Gary Underwood, also of Louisville is on the drums.
