A domestic violence call ended in a drug bust that left two people in jail and Flemingsburg Police with an extensive amount of contraband.
According to Chief Randy Sergent, officers responded Saturday morning to the home of Jeremy Flanery and Brooke Littleton.
“She called and said he was beating her in the head,” Sergent said. “When Officer Chris Ingram got there she opened the door. There were visible knots behind her ear.”
When police arrived Flanery ran out the back door. Officer Falon Fugate and Ingram found powder and rock cocaine in Flanery’s shoe left by the backdoor.
“After they found that the got a search warrant and called for the drug dog.”
Fleming County Deputy Gary Kinder arrived with Basko and found 3.5 pounds of marijuana, 50 grams of powder and rock cocaine and $2174 in cash.
“There was a safe in the kids’ bedroom,” Sergent said. “It had drugs and money in it, too.”
There were three children living in the home, according to Sergent, a six month old baby, a 3 year old and a 5 year old.
Fugett said four bags of marijuana weighing 3.5 pounds were discovered near the fence in the backyard. One bag was found hanging from the fence while the other three were in the neighbor’s yard, Fugett said.
Officers also confiscated Flanery’s Cadillac, Sergent said.
Flanery was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, first-degree fleeing and evading police on foot, trafficking in controlled substance/cocaine second offense, trafficking in marijuana more than 8 ounces less than 5 pounds second offense, tampering with physical evidence and possession/drug paraphernalia.
Littleton, who was at the residence, was charged with trafficking in marijuana more than 8 ounces less than five pounds and trafficking in cocaine.
Flanery and Littleton have been lodged in the Mason County Detention Center and are being held on $50,000 cash bonds, according to Sergent.
